One of my favorite things to do is watch and talk about movies with my friends. I've done a little of that here, but thinking it would be fun to share the experience with others, I've set up a new web site called Groundlings Review.
The name comes from a term from Shakespearean England where the common folk would get cheap tickets to see the plays where they would stand on the dirt floor in the middle of the round theater. They were called the groundlings and much of the humor in the plays was put there to appease them. They were considered "lower brow" than the people who sat up in the risers.
This seemed appropriate for this endeavor because we're not in the film industry. We're not journalists. Most of us aren't even officially writers (one of us is, though - not me). We're just regular folks with opinions to share.
I hope to regularly post to this site with current reviews and I hope my friends do as well. Please pay us a visit and leave a comment to let us know what you think!
