Leadership is important.
If we, as a society, want to develop, grow, evolve, and, for the sake of prescience, get better as we avoid mistakes of the past, we need a solid direction. We also need leadership to keep us on track.
The rules should be simple. The people choose the leader, and the leader serves selflessly for the common good.
To ensure that, the people should always, always question the leadership. Good, bad, and ugly, every action and motive should be questioned with a logical mind and critical eye.
The leadership should never be above the people. In fact, it should be the opposite.
The danger of unchecked power has proven itself since written history. Checks and balances are more important than who is leading. And the direction that leadership takes? It should always be the will of the people.
Not businesses. Not organizations. Not interest groups or religions. Not corporations or conglomerates. The people.
If this is not the case, despite what specific form a government takes, then the people have failed themselves and each other. They have traded critical thinking for being spoonfed beliefs.
Has money interests already taken control of your leadership and future? If so, are you comfortable with that direction for the people?
…all of the people?
